Portugal – Sizzle Reel

Built, Corporate Video, Latest, Latest Video, Sport, Video Highlights

This is a little reel of some of my work during my recent trip to Portugal.

I was the DOP for a set of hotel videos working for Marco at Juicy Lime (who you should approach for shooting in Portugal!)

Marco wanted a fairly free feel to the work so a lot was handheld.

We shot a Sony FS700 on my T60 Rig. My FS100 was used for some Broll.

We also shot a GoPro3 Hero 3 on a little rig I built from HIR Bits

The GoPro was at 48FPS and the 700 from 25 to 200FPS.

Overall I felt the 700 handled well as a camera, making a nice image after we had a go at the profiles. The DP7 monitor presented some problems (or the camera outputs) meaning that there is some delays to monitor vision, particularly viewing last scene and changing frame rate.

Additionally I would love it if when the shutter was on 180 it stayed on 180 when you changed the frame rate

I graded the footage in Resolve which I enjoy more and more.

A couple of shots are on the BlackBird and the 5dmk2

We used my TDolly on PVC pipe bought in country for 6EU and Marco’s Vinten Sticks

The main lens was my Nikkor 28-85 with an 11-16 Tokina and 70-200 2.8 canon on a straight Metabones adaptor.

Light was managed with a couple of CTB gelled Redheads and a 42inch Photoflex reflector.

FS700 Picture Profile.

We made this by testing against my FS100 profile and dialing it back a little..
